| The initiative was facilitated by the Jones Lang LaSalle Management Services team in partnership with Thames 21, an environmental charity. It was a community and environmental initiative designed to meet the Responsible Property Investment (RPI) challenges set out by Jones Lang LaSalle’s client Hermes.
Occupiers from Hermes’ Central London Offices portfolio were encouraged to participate and companies including NBC Universal and Barnett Waddingham LLP took up the challenge, as well as representatives from Hermes, Upstream Sustainability Consultants and a number of Jones Lang LaSalle staff. A team of 34 spent a morning working and playing together while clearing some 5 tonnes of refuse, including scrap metal, fencing and lorry tyres from the banks of the river Thames at London Yard on the Isle of Dogs.
Greg Tytherleigh, Associate Director at Jones Lang LaSalle said: “Occupier engagement at events such as these provides a great opportunity for businesses to do their part for the environment and community. We are very pleased to be able to make a contribution through this worthy initiative.”
Tim Lineham, Investment Manager for Central London Offices at Hermes commented: “I must congratulate Jones Lang LaSalle for initiating an event that tackles our RPI Challenges in a proactive and hands-on way. This event gave us an invaluable opportunity to work alongside our occupiers in a relaxed, fun environment to achieve our common goals of helping to provide a cleaner city both for ourselves and the local community.”
